Jozef Síkela, the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, spoke in an interview for Seznam Zprávy about current energy-related topics. He emphasized that the Czech Republic has secured alternative sources of gas and oil in order to eliminate its dependence on Russia, which he considers an unreliable and dangerous partner. He also rejected pressure from coal power plant owners seeking state subsidies. According to him, the state is prepared for their gradual closure by 2033.
At the same time, he highlighted the importance of cogeneration units, which generate both electricity and heat from natural gas. In his view, these units should become part of the strategy for replacing coal-fired power plants.
Minister Síkela also provided updates on the ongoing tender for the completion of a new nuclear power unit at Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant. He stated that bidders are interested not only in Dukovany, but also in Temelín Nuclear Power Station. He also mentioned that the government is awaiting approval of the financial model and a new State Energy Policy. This policy is expected to include support for small modular reactors, which could represent the future of nuclear energy.
As a manufacturer of cogeneration units, we offer reliable and cost-effective solutions for customers seeking to reduce their energy consumption and emissions. Our units are designed for easy integration into existing energy systems while ensuring a stable supply of both electricity and heat.
