We have launched a major project to modernize Czech district heating

Today in Písek, we officially launched the construction of a 5 MW cogeneration unit, thanks to which Teplárna Písek will significantly move closer to its goal of ending its dependence on coal.
Clear words were spoken on site: modernization is not an option, but a necessity. The new unit will deliver not only efficiency above 96%, but also a reduction in CO₂ emissions of up to 30% compared to the existing coal-based source.
The installation of a nine-cylinder engine with an electrical output of 5.1 MW and thermal output of 5.2 MW is a key step toward stabilizing heat prices in Písek.
The cogeneration unit is designed for the future – it will be capable of hydrogen co-firing and participation in grid balancing services.
