Hydrogen – the fuel of the future

GENTEC develops hydrogen-fired CHP units. We are one of the first in the world to boast a working CHP unit that burns a mixture of hydrogen and other gases. We are launching the GT-MH2 260 eco. In the near future, CHP units will generate electricity and heat from hydrogen produced from renewable sources. Cogeneration will therefore be a very important part of modern energy. Cogeneration units will burn stored hydrogen when there is not enough production from the sun or wind. They will thus provide the necessary flexibility to stabilise the energy sector.

Why use hydrogen

Security

Security

When developing a hydrogen cogeneration unit, we focus on operational safety. We implement multi-level security elements in CHP and its control system.

Low investment costs

Low investment costs

Thanks to the possibility of converting the existing CHP to combust hydrogen, the investment requirement is acceptable compared to other technologies.

Low emissions

Low emissions

By combusting hydrogen, primary fuel will be saved and emissions will be reduced.

Combustion flexibility

Combustion flexibility

CHP units can burn hydrogen in a mixture of selectable ratio with other gaseous fuels. This flexibility will be important in times of hydrogen scarcity. For example, fuel cells do not allow this.

100 % H2

100 % H2

From approximately 2025, it will be possible to combust up to 100% hydrogen in our CHP units.

Hydrogen ready

Hydrogen ready

Our CHP units are hydrogen ready. This means that already delivered units can be converted to hydrogen combustion in the future.
